Kingsley organises your line and bandwidth. We in return bill you Kingsley ADSL line rental (traditionally billed by Telkom) as well as bandwidth. Self installing Kingsley ADSL is an easy process but should you have any difficulties we’ll be able to assist you. SIO saves you Telkom installation charges & reduces your monthly cost. Additional bandwidth can be purchased at our downwards sliding scale rate.

MONTH TO MONTH OFFER:

  • Please note that there is a once off setup fee of ONLY R275 which includes the following:

Free adsl router valued at R480.00

preconfiguring of your router so that it works automatically when you receive it valued at R140

Prices quoted include VAT and are subject to change.

  • Kingsley ADSL services are hard capped. When you reach your cap limit, the account disables on the next reconnection. A quick phone call or email to Kingsley Support to increase your cap (either permanently or temporarily) gets you going again.
  • The self install option is subject to Telkom allowing SIO on your phone number

  • Port Locking Available:
  • Theft of bandwidth is growing in the South African market. It is sometimes unintentional or even unwittingly authorized by the owner of the account.
The most common occurrence is when a user ‘lends’ his user name and password out to friends or relatives who make use of the account. However, this ‘sharing’ of bandwidth is rarely recalled when the bill arrives and the user finds he has exceeded his bandwidth allocation and is
paying a premium for the extra Gigabytes used. However, there are more sinister means of bandwidth theft. It is as simple as ‘stealing’ the person’s login details.”While it is a criminal offence to steal bandwidth it is difficult to prosecute the perpetrator as an interdict is required for Telkom to provide the physical address
of the port in question to the police.Port locking is a control measure that monitors the port numbers that initiate or request the bandwidth connection. The ISP will register
the port number that is authorized to make use of the account and is able to identify unauthorized port numbers are making use of the service.

Kingsley has an online administration tool for the end user which allows users to block unauthorised ports on their adsl account.

The following Telkom criteria apply:
  • You need to be in an ADSL enabled area to qualify, this will be confirmed during your application process.
  • This option is only valid if you do not already have an ADSL line. If you are in the process of getting an ADSL line and want to use this option, you need to cancel your ADSL installation first.
  • You will still be charged by Telkom for normal line rental, voice and fax calls.
  • You will need to have a Telkom telephone account.

This is a shaped service. The main priority is HTTP followed by FTP, Mail (POP3, SMTP and IMAP), SSH and TELNET. Any protocol not mentioned above will receive a lower priority.
